Overnight oats are a lifesaver for those who live busy lives. The guys and girls at MotivatePT are often extremely busy in the mornings training their clients. They have created a PT approved Overnights Oats recipe for all of you ‘fit-foodies’ out there. Here is what the guys had to say about our Chia Bia Whole seeds:

Every Personal Trainer wants to eat something quick and highly nutritious in the mornings to ensure their energy levels are maintained throughout the day. Overnight oats are an ideal breakfast for busy people. Not only are they super quick and easy to make, they are ideal to kick start  your day the healthy way. With 5 minutes to spare in the evenings, simply add all the ingredients into a bowl/jar, mix, and place in the fridge overnight and your breakfast is ready! Enjoy this easy on-the-go meal either on your commute to work, or at your desk. Overnight oats are perfectly balanced containing protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, fibre, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This recipe ensures a healthy alternative to readily available breakfasts such as sugary cereals or processed breakfast bars.

Oats are one of the healthiest grains out there; they are whole grains, gluten-free and provide a great source nutrients. Studies have shown oats have many health benefits including; weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and can reduce the risk of heart disease. Within this recipe, we have also added Chia Bia seeds, which despite their size are beneficial to our bodies, with an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. This helps raise HDL (the good) cholesterol that protects against strokes and heart attacks. Chia Bia seeds are also rich in antioxidants and provide fibre, calcium and iron. They have been shown to aid healthy complexion, increase energy, and lower overall weight.

Ingredients

  • 30 g of Oats
  • 95 g of Greek Yogurt
  • 80 ml Almond Milk
  • 1 tbsp Chia Bia Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Desiccated Coconut
  • ½ a Banana
  • Optional: Honey, Almonds, Dark Chocolate.

 

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a jar/Tupperware,
  2. Put the lid on and shake well or mix then place the lid,
  3. Place in the fridge overnight,
  4. And voila! Add your desired toppings and enjoy.
